**** Washington State Car Seat Laws
-
A child under the age of 1 or under 20 lbs needs to be in a rear facing car seat.
-
A child who is over 1 and younger then 4 years old and under 40 lbs needs to be in a forward facing car seat.
-
A child who is older then 4 years old and over 40 lbs but shorter then 4'9" needs to ride in a booster seat.
-
Any child who is under 13 years old needs to ride in the back seat when practical to do so.
